Energy Efficiency

We build energy efficient homes!

Building America is a private/public partnership that develops energy solutions for new and existing homes. The Building America Program combines the knowledge and resources of industry leaders with the US Department of Energy's technical capabilities.

Building America

ENERGY STAR labeled homes are at least 30% more energy efficient than homes built to the national energy code. Even in states with more rigorous energy codes, EPA ensures that ENERGY STAR remains the symbol for truly energy-efficient performance.

Energy Star

Comfort Home Package

  • Properly sized HVAC equipment- Efficient & cost effective
  • Low E Vinyl windows- Heat stays in during winter, out in summer

Comfort Home Package

  • More value for your money- Superior cooling in an affordable home!
  • Ducting runs thru conditioned air space - No Competing with attic temperatures
  • Closed system- Positive filtering of particles in the air

Insulated Right

  • R38/23 insulation- Better heating & cooling efficiency
  • Blown-in insulation with no gaps, voids or compression- "Air barrier" touches "thermal barrier" throughout

Airtight Construction

  • Sealed sill plate - Seals air leakage
  • Sealed plumbing & wiring holes - at top plate-stops air leakage
  • Sealed ceiling fixtures - Prevents air leakage into attic

Fully Tested

  • Duct testing- Ensures no unwanted leakage of conditioned air
  • Blower door testing- Insures home has no drafts
  • Fresh air inlet adjusted- Ensures the proper amount of healthy air inside
  • Room-to-room pressure adjusted & tested- Keeps all room conditioned whether doors are opened or closed, and insures all Air Registers are working properly.

Air Quality

  • Fresh air inlet- Healthy air by design
  • Homes slightly pressurized - Hold pressure against outside unconditioned air
  • Room-to room flow balancing- All rooms get the right amount of air
  • Bedroom return ducting- Allow home to condition duct space and provide circulation of Air when bedroom doors are closed.

Health & Safety

  • Gas water heater in garage- Lowers chance of carbon monoxide, reduces risk of flame rollout
  • Equipment is sized right, eliminating excess wasted flame, so air is not scorched, causing over drying of air, Filtered air year round for the healthiest environment possible.

Advanced Building Techniques

  • Engineered lumber, including trusses- Maximum strength on a minimum amount of wood
  • Elimination of wall-to-wall vertical voids - Helps lower thermal loss through unwanted air pockets

Water Conservation & Waste Reduction

  • Refrigerated air conditioning saves up to 15,000 gallons for water yearly ... Water-wise ... saves money too!
